Laser Therapy Provides a Natural Remedy for Allergy and Asthma Symptoms
Help your quality of life by reducing or removing your allergy and/or asthmas symptoms
Allergy, which is caused by an over-reaction of the immune system to a substance which is harmless to most people, leads to a potential wide variety of symptoms. Some of these allergy symptoms are relatively minor; however other symptoms significantly interfere with an individual’s quality of your life and productivity. Low Level Light Therapy brings relief to these symptoms.
What is the mechanism of allergic (over)reactivity?
Individuals who suffer from allergies have an immune system which over-reacts to a substance (or substances) which is ordinarily relatively harmless to most individuals (examples include pollen, dust, cat/dog dander). A substance which triggers an allergic reaction in an individual is known as an allergen. An allergy sufferer’s immune system identifies a particular allergen as harmful, and, consequently, makes antibodies to that substance in order to defend the body against the identified allergen (immunoglobin E antibodies). The antibody binds to the allergen and triggers an inflammatory reaction which leads to the release of histamine (and other inflammatory compounds such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins).
It is these inflammatory compounds which lead to the symptoms of allergy. When there is inflammation in the lungs and bronchi, this leads to asthma symptoms. The symptoms of asthma are associated with excessive secretions in the bronchi, bronchial spasm, and inflammation of the bronchial lining. These inflammatory bronchial changes subsequently lead to obstruction of airflow in and out of the lungs with consequent shortness of breath, wheezing, and cough.
